About Michael Earle

I am a Clinical Social Worker (BSW, MSW, RSW) and an EMDR therapist originally from Newfoundland. I provide client-centered, trauma-informed therapy that emphasizes an open and nonjudgmental style. I work with both adult and pediatric populations. This dual focus has equipped me with a deep understanding of the unique needs and treatment approaches for each age group. I focus on the overall strengths of my clients and strive to enhance confidence through a collaborative approach. I often incorporate humour to foster strong therapeutic relationships, creating a comfortable environment for clients to explore their experiences. I am committed to personalizing and customizing treatments for each client, helping them achieve their unique goals. I support individuals facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, risk management, addiction, and complex, developmental trauma as well as adult trauma. Having experience in the military, I have an invested interest in supporting Veterans, serving members, and first responders. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and the Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) Framework for trauma.

I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at Memorial University of Newfoundland and later completed my Master of Social Work specializing in Health and Mental Health from the University of Toronto. My entire career trajectory has been focused on mental health.  I also have extensive experience delivering care and treatment in both inpatient and outpatient environments, including hospitals and community-based settings, and I have practiced social work in multiple provinces, including Newfoundland, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new local cafes and restaurants, traveling, snuggling my precious goldendoodle, and relaxing with friends around a table playing board games.
